RESPONSIBILITIES

The COO will serve as the strategic partner to the Founder and lead operations, infrastructure, and team coordination across the business, driving execution, alignment, and accountability at every level.

Strategic Execution & Leadership
  • Translate the Founder’s ideas into actionable, aligned plans
  • Anticipate challenges, drive accountability, and lead through change
  • Ensure cohesion across teams, priorities, and systems
  • Drive a culture of ownership and follow-through across the organization
  • Collaborate with business segment leaders to develop V/TOs (Vision/Traction Organizer), KPIs, and execution plans
Operations & Financial Infrastructure
  • Build and standardize systems, SOPs, digital tools, and file infrastructure across offices
  • Oversee invoicing, utilization tracking, monthly financial reporting, and budgeting
  • Lead EOS meetings, manage the V/TO, track Rocks and To-Dos, and ensure cross-functional responsibility
  • Monitor department-level KPIs, including marketing performance metrics, to ensure alignment with strategic goals
People & Talent Development
  • Coach managers on performance, leadership, and holding their teams accountable
  • Lead “Launch University” to scale onboarding and training
  • Support recruiting and organization structure for expansion offices
  • Build relationships with key external partners (e.g., LAO) to support growth and integration
Success Milestones
  • 3 Months: Meet with business segment team leaders to review and refine individual V/TOs and KPIs, develop execution plans, connect with Land Advisor Organization (LAO) partners, visit key sites, implement file and accounting systems, and identify top 5 process gaps
  • 6 Months: Core process game plans in place, 5+ systems implemented, onboarding launched
  • 12 Months: Core business segments executing consistently on V/TOs, Rocks, and resolving issues; LAO integration active, marketing systems running, office budgets aligned, Launch University live with 25+ modules

** This is a full-time, hybrid 1099 independent contractor role. The ideal candidate will be based in Scottsdale, AZ (preferred), Houston or Dallas, TX, or Irvine, CA, with regular in-person collaboration and quarterly travel to key locations. **

 

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • 5+ years of senior operations leadership in a high-growth or entrepreneurial environment, with a proven ability to lead and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience scaling operations and building teams
  • Proven success in developing and implementing scalable systems and operational processes
  • A track record of mentoring and developing talent, especially emerging leaders
  • Background in professional services or a client-service-driven organization
  • Tech-savvy, with fluency in tools like Zoom, Asana, Slack, and Microsoft Office
Preferred
  • Experience managing operations across multiple locations or business units
  • Background in start-ups or founder-led companies
  • Familiarity with development, real estate, and/or finance
  • Consulting experience (internal or external)
  • Project management experience; PMP certification a plus
  • Exposure to AI and automation tools (or a strong curiosity and drive to learn)
  • Experience leading hybrid or distributed teams
  • Experience supporting sales operations or coaching business development leaders on performance and growth strategies

Senior Managers ( Irvine, CA)

If you’re an experienced professional with  7+ years work experience in public accounting, management consulting, public finance, or real estate development/finance who wants to work with the brightest most curious minds in the industry, we would like you to consider joining our team.

Although your job description will be ever-changing, but here’s a sample of what you can expect to experience:

  1. Research and evaluate data required to prepare financial feasibility analyses in support of proposed development financing programs.
  2. Assist, as required, in the implementation process for the proposed development financing programs.
  3. Actively participate in the firm’s business development efforts with both existing and prospective clients.
  4. Analyze client data utilizing industry practices, legal concepts, governmental standards, and regulations to provide expert recommendations regarding the clients’ ongoing and anticipated development projects.
  5. Conduct research and analyzes best alternatives for clients.
  6. Represent clients in negotiations with governmental entities (e.g., counties and cities) staff, and advisors, recommending to client appropriate course of action with respect to such negotiations.
  7. Acts as a liaison between client and various governmental authorities and other consultants during the development process.
  8. Review and provides comments to agreements to ensure legal compliance with governmental standards and regulations, as well as compliance with the specific business points of the transaction.
  9. Responsible for contacting and developing rapport with various governmental officials and explaining the clients’ financing objectives and developing good working relationships to ensure the clients’ compliance with the law and the requirements of the proposed financing transaction.
  10. Ensure work product and file support on jobs is consistent with  Launch’s operational policies.
  11. Ensure that engagements adhere as closely as possible to budget.
  12. Establish relationships and respect with key client contacts and the financing team community/industry.
  13. Conduct self professionally and ethically in all Launch business activities both on-site and off-site, as well as in dealings with clients, prospective clients, senior management, and staff, recognizing that failure to do so could materially threaten the reputation of Launch.
  14. Appropriately delegates to junior Team Members commensurate with the Team Members’ levels of competence.
  15. Perform detailed review of work product prepared by junior Team Members.
  16. Sets clear expectations to junior Team Members regarding their preparation of work product and budget.

Associate / (Dallas, TX, Scottsdale, AZ and Irvine, CA)

If you’ve recently graduated or have being working for a couple of years with a background in accounting, finance, math or real estate we encourage you to consider the role of an associate consultant.

From day one you will be required to use your interpersonal, analytical, business management and leadership skills as we place you in the middle of a consulting engagement working with some of the best in the business.

Everyday will be different as you work with teams of 2 to 3 consultants in which you will run a distinct aspect of the consulting engagement.

You will take charge of identifying informational sources, assembling and analyzing data, executing analysis and presenting finding to team members and clients.

You will research various development projects, development costs, jurisdictional policies, competitive development projects and legal documents – work that will become the basis for the team’s strategic recommendations.

After accumulating the requisite experience your will take responsibility for supervising more junior Associate Consultants.
